Our portable cutting machine is developed from CNC cutting table or the numerically controlled machine tools or lathe. The general principle of this machine will be summarized as follows.

By means of the beam delivery system such as a mirror and lens, the laser beam generated by an optical laser will be guided and focused onto the surface of the workpiece. The intense heat of the focused laser beam melts the workpiece all the way through over a very narrow area or gasifies the workpiece directly. Then the molten material is ejected from the cut area by auxiliary gas after passing cutting heads acting coaxially with the laser beam. Thus, stable cutting performance is achieved. Therefore, any defective component or factor which impedes the realization of this cutting process is the standard of failure detection. A series of principles of troubleshooting approaches will be discussed below.

1. Test principle starts with the simple problem and then complex or sophisticated one.
When various problems are intertwined, you don't know how to solve these problems for a short while. According to the test principle, you must solve the simple question prior to the complex one.

2. The principle begins with external problem and then internal problem. You should pay more attention to two points. For one thing, you need to check the appropriateness of external condition. For another, the random action like unsealing or disassembling the machine must be avoided. Thus, the systematic precision will be not reduced and other related problems will be not increased.

3. General problem should be solved before the settlement of specific one. During trouble clearing, the most common cause needs to be considered at the beginning and then the specific situation can be studied.

4. In addition to the above, you also need to comply with these principles like check first, then power on; software first, then hardware; machinery first, then electric equipment, and so on.

The maintenance operation is not yet fully accomplished after clearing all the problems. The maintenance personnel should analyze the underlying cause of fault occurrence and then give a timely feedback to the related department so that all appropriate measures will be taken to prevent the occurrence of faults.
